Taijuan Walker Removed From Game Monday
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Taijuan Walker (side) was removed from the Mets' game against the Braves on Monday evening after three innings and 33 pitches due to what is being described as "left side tightness." Walker had thrown three scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out two before he was removed. More details should be available later Monday night or Tuesday regarding the extent of the injury suffered by Walker. This is another rough blow to the injury-ravaged Mets and, in particular, their rotation with Carlos Carrasco (hamstring), Jacob deGrom (side), and Noah Syndergaard (elbow) already sidelined. Walker had thrown three quality starts in his last four outings and looked to be en route to another QS before he was injured. Walker has been a nice surprise for the Mets in the early part of 2021 and had become a consistent fantasy start in all formats. Hopefully, Walker's injury is not serious and he avoids a stint on the Mets' incredibly crowded injured list.
