4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Taijuan Walker went four and 1/3 innings in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday against the Phillies. Walker allowed just one earned run, three hits, and three walks while striking out eight in the Mets' 4-3 victory. He did not factor into the decision despite a very solid start. Through two starts in 2021, Walker now has a 2.61 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and a 12:5 K:BB in 10 1/3 IP. Now healthy after a few seasons dealing with injuries, Walker appears poised for a bounceback season as the Mets' third starter. If Walker can limit the walks, which impacted the length of his start on Tuesday, he could vastly outperform his pre-season ADP to the delight of managers who rostered him as a potential sleeper.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
