5 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Taijuan Walker (elbow) will not make his first Cactus League start on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants. After missing nearly all of his previous two seasons as a result of Tommy John Surgery, the team will take a cautious approach with the righty, who will instead participate in a simulated game on Friday. Walker, who signed a one-year deal to return to Seattle after spending the last three seasons in Arizona, will look to remain healthy in 2020. He has had a seesaw career up to this point, sporting a lifetime 31-31 record with a 3.95 ERA. Though he likely won't be selected in the majority of upcoming mixed league drafts, owners will want to monitor his progress throughout the year, especially if he can remain on the field.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
