4 years agoDetroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal was told Wednesday morning that he has made the Opening Day roster, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Skubal — the top left-handed pitching prospect in the Tigers' organization — made his major league debut last season, posting a 5.63 ERA in 32 innings of work, while also recording a 27.6 percent strikeout rate and 8.2 percent walk rate. He showed high strikeout potential with a career 37.1 percent strikeout rate in the minors, and this spring he has struck out 15 batters in 12 innings while allowing two runs on eight hits and eight walks. Skubal looks like he could be the best fantasy pitcher in Detroit this year, and managers should consider targeting him as a high-upside, late-round pick--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
