7 years agoESPN's Adam Shefter has reported that the Chicago Bears will sign free-agent wide receiver Taylor Gabriel to a four-year contract. Gabriel enjoyed an excellent 2016 season, averaging 16.5 yards per catch and bringing in a team-high six touchdowns. Gabriel's speed was a huge factor in what made the Falcons a historically fantastic offense, and he can take the top off of a defense. But Gabriel struggled at times last season with a foot injury and never really meshed in a new offensive system after offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan left for the 49ers. The Bears have made quite a splash in the opening moments of free agency, and Gabriel will have every opportunity to continue to grow in new head coach Matt Nagy's offense.
