Taylor Gabriel To Join Bears On Four-Year Deal
7 years agoESPN's Adam Shefter has reported that the Chicago Bears will sign free-agent wide receiver Taylor Gabriel to a four-year contract. Gabriel enjoyed an excellent 2016 season, averaging 16.5 yards per catch and bringing in a team-high six touchdowns. Gabriel's speed was a huge factor in what made the Falcons a historically fantastic offense, and he can take the top off of a defense. But Gabriel struggled at times last season with a foot injury and never really meshed in a new offensive system after offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan left for the 49ers. The Bears have made quite a splash in the opening moments of free agency, and Gabriel will have every opportunity to continue to grow in new head coach Matt Nagy's offense. Gabriel last season caught 33 passes for 378 yards and only one touchdown.
