3 years agoWashington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera said that quarterback Taylor Heinicke will make the start in the Week 18 regular season finale against the New York Giants. Washington was eliminated from postseason contention with their loss on Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington's coaching staff will have an opportunity to evaluate their younger players in the season finale this Sunday. Heinicke continued his struggles on Sunday in the loss to the Eagles, going 27-for-36 for 247 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. It's been a tough year for Heinicke after he took over for veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 1, although he could finish the season off on a high note against New York. In his first meeting against them in Week 2, Heinicke went 34-for-46 for a season-high 336 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
