Taylor Rogers Blows Sixth Save
5 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Taylor Rogers was charged with a blown save in a 5-4 loss to the Miami Marlins on Thursday. Rogers wasn't charged with an earned run but he allowed two of his three inherited runners to score, allowing the Marlins to make up a 4-1 deficit in the ninth inning. Rogers has been shaky in the ninth-inning role, blowing six of his 22 save chances. The Twins recently acquired Sergio Romo, who has plenty of closing experience over his career. There's a good chance Romo is closing out games for Minnesota sooner rather than later if Rogers doesn't get straightened out. Romo is worth a back of the roster stash in the meantime.
