4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers was lights-out in a non-save situation on Thursday, despite his team's loss. Rogers entered the game in the top of the eighth inning and proceeded to strike out each of the four batters he faced on just 15 pitches. The southpaw threw 13 of those pitches for strikes and generated five whiffs, four of them on his slider. After a couple of shaky outings, Rogers seemed to get back on track with Thursday's outing- and remains very much in the mix for saves in the Minnesota bullpen. He owns a 2.77 ERA and a 17:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 13 innings pitched.--Tim Capurso
