Taysom Hill Expected To Undergo Foot Surgery
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said that quarterback Taysom Hill (foot) is expected to undergo surgery for the Lisfranc injury that he suffered to his left foot on Sunday in the win over the Atlanta Falcons. Hill is also expected to need a smaller follow-up surgery, and there is no specific timetable for his return. The 31-year-old will have the offseason to heal up after the Saints were eliminated from postseason contention in the Week 18 regular season finale. Hill played in 12 games (nine starts) in 2021, going 78-for-134 (58.2%) for 978 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran the ball 70 times for 374 yards (5.3 yards per carry) and five more TDs. If he's the Saints starting QB to open the 2022 season, he'll be a low-end streaming option on a weekly basis because of his rushing ability, but he could be in for another competition this summer.
