Tejay Antone Bails Out Lucas Sims For Save
4 years agoCincinnati Reds reliever Tejay Antone got the final out of an 8-6 win over the Chicago Cubs on Friday. Antone earned the save for his efforts, his first of the season after Carson Fulmer started the ninth inning and allowed two runs. The Reds had to turn to Antone to bail them out after Lucas Sims walked three batters in the ninth in relief of Fulmer. Antone has been impressive out of the bullpen for the Reds, posting a 1-0 record, 0.64 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts over 14 innings of work. With both Amir Garrett and Lucas Sims struggling in their respective turns as the team's closer, Antone could start to see more save chances going forward. He should be rostered in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues going forward.
