Tejay Antone Has Not Begun Throwing
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tejay Antone (forearm) has not yet begun a throwing program after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection early in the month of July. Antone has been sidelined with a right forearm strain and hasn't appeared in a game since June 24. The lack of a throwing program thus far is not as ominous as it sounds as manager David Bell told reporters that he would not classify it as a setback for Antone. The reliever originally was expected to be able to return by the end of July but an August return is looking more likely now. Right-hander Heath Hembree has ascended to a high-leverage role with Antone sidelined and has seen the majority of the save chances in July.
