6 years agoOakland Raiders tight end Jared Cook got the fantasy world buzzing with a 180-yard performance on Monday Night Football in Week 1. Gravity took hold in Week 2, however, as he returned to Earth in the form of a four-catch, 49-yard outing. Many fantasy owners who snagged him off the waiver wire prior to Week 2 now find themselves in the familiar territory of trying to figure out which version of Cook to expect from week to week. It's worth noting that Cook's last 100-yard receiving game prior to Week 1 came in Week 9 of the 2017 season. From that point on, he compiled just 189 yards in the Raiders' final seven games. In fact, Cook has posted just four games of 100 yards or more since 2016. His low yardage totals are compounded by the fact that he's also scored just three touchdowns since the beginning of 2016. It's far more likely that Cook's Week 1 performance was an outlier as opposed to something fantasy owners can bank on going forward.--Chris O'Reilly
