6 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez sat out Thursday’s series opener against the Oakland Athletics due to back soreness, and he’s going to miss at least one more game, as he’s not in the lineup on Friday either. Hernandez has been on a tear of sorts lately, cruising on a five-game hitting streak with base knocks in six of his last seven games, including multiple hits in three of them. He’s up to a .272/.324/.560 slash line (.884 OPS) with seven home runs, two triples, 11 doubles, 20 runs scored, 18 RBI and three stolen bases on the year. When healthy, Hernandez has the ability to stuff every facet of the box score.--John Smith
