6 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez didn’t light the world on fire on Friday against the New York Yankees, but he did extend his hitting streak to five games. In a 6-2 victory, Hernandez finished 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI and one strikeout. For the season, Hernandez is up to a .260/.310/.512 (.823 OPS) slash line with 13 home runs, 20 doubles, six triples, 39 runs scored, 35 RBI and three stolen bases. Hernandez’s well-documented contact issues have been a major factor in him not breaking out more than he already has, and it really crushes his value in on-base percentage leagues. Still only 25, though, Hernandez has time to fix those issues.--John Smith
