Terry McLaurin Primed For Breakout Season
3 years agoWashington Football Team wide receiver Terry McLaurin will look to solidify himself among the league's elite pass-catchers as he heads into his third season. Team reporter Peter Hailey said that McLaurin "has become an impeccable route runner as a pro and over the summer he's been perfecting his off-the-line releases." With improved quarterback play from Ryan Fitzpatrick, the former Ohio State Buckeye could be in the Pro Bowl conversation this season. Washington's offense has speed all over the field with the additions of Curtis Samuel and Dyami Brown, so McLaurin anticipates more one-on-one matchups to exploit down the field. The 25-year old finished with 87 receptions for 1,118 yards and four touchdowns in 2020 while dealing with inconsistent quarterback play for the most part, so the addition of Fitzpatrick could mean an improvement in all three categories. In particular, he should be in for some positive touchdown regression as the much-improved Washington offense should have some more scoring opportunities in 2021. McLaurin can be treated as a WR1 in fantasy because of his projected massive target share.
