Terry McLaurin Reporting To Offseason Program
3 years agoIn spite of an unresolved contract situation, Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin will be participating in the team's on-field offseason program, beginning on Monday. It was originally reported that he would not participate until he received a new contract, along with fellow fourth-year wide receivers Deebo Samuel and A.J. Brown. However, McLaurin is now expected to report and remain on track with team activity. Entering the final year of his rookie contract when the wide receiver market has exploded, McLaurin and his agent would have the leverage to negotiate a new deal or seek a trade. However, the 26-year-old has fallen somewhat short of lofty expectations, recording 77 catches for 1,053 yards and five touchdowns in 2021. Monday's news is encouraging for McLaurin to remain a Commander, but the way this offseason has gone, it is certainly not a guarantee.
