Tests Confirm Torn ACL For Gus Edwards
3 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards (knee) has officially been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will have season-ending surgery. Edwards was expected to take the lead role with J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Justice Hill (achilles) both sidelined for the season, but caught a tough break in practice and what was feared as a torn ACL has now been confirmed. The Ravens backfield is currently in shambles and they have signed veteran running backs Le'Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman in the past 24 hours. Bell and Freeman were both signed to the practice squad, but there is a good chance that one or both of them could be active for Week 1. For now, Ty'Son Williams appears to be in line for the most carries in Week 1 versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Both Bell and Freeman struggled in 2020 and Williams offers the most upside at the moment.
