6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes left wing Teuvo Teravainen posted a goal with two assists and a plus-three rating in Saturday's 5-1 victory against the Minnesota Wild. Teravainen reached 50 assists for the season, as did fellow teammate and countryman Sebastian Aho. Teravainen reached the milestone first in Saturday's game, becoming the first player since Ray Whitney in 2008-09 to record 50 assists in a season. Teravainen and Aho are the first teammates to reach 50 assists in a single season for the Hurricanes since Whitney and Rod Brind'Amour, the team's current head coach. It's a quick turnaround, as the Hurricanes host the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday night.--Daniel Dobish
