Tevin Coleman Signs Two-Year Deal With 49ers
6 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers and running back Tevin Coleman have agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Coleman, who was met with a colder than expected market in free agency, escapes a committee in Atlanta just to form another one with either Jerick McKinnon, Matt Breida, or both. Of course, many were calling Coleman the 2019 version of McKinnon, who landed a big free agent contract last offseason. Time is a flat circle. While the Kyle Shanahan system has been excellent for fantasy running backs over the years, this is not what Coleman's dynasty owners had in mind when projecting his landing spot over the past year. Even if the 49ers cut McKinnon, as is very possible, Coleman will still split looks with Matt Breida. Look for Coleman to operate in a role similar to what he had in Atlanta.
