2 years agoThe Houston Texans released veteran running back Marlon Mack on Tuesday, according to a source. Although rookie Dameon Pierce was already trending upward as the likely primary back heading into the start of the regular season, Mack's release comes as a pretty big surprise. The 26-year-old was looking fully healthy after a devastating Achilles injury two years ago and was set to at least share early down touches with Pierce in 2022. The move obviously makes Pierce even more attractive in upcoming fantasy drafts as a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 in his first NFL season. Veteran Rex Burkhead will serve as a change-of-pace option and will take away valuable pass-catching opportunities for the rookie.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
