Texans Release Phillip Lindsay
3 years agoThe Houston Texans have released former Pro Bowl running back Phillip Lindsay on Tuesday. The 27-year-old carried the ball just one time in Week 11 and has accumulated just 50 opportunities on the ground this season. Lindsay has averaged just 2.6 yards per carry while splitting opportunities with David Johnson, Rex Burkhead, and at one point Mark Ingram II. Burkhead carried the ball 18 times in Week 11, so he will have a lot of appeal on the waiver wire before Week 12 when the Texans play the New York Jets. David Johnson will likely handle passing situations, so he could have some fantasy value in deeper PPR leagues down the stretch. As for Lindsay, he is nothing more than a speculative add because of his unclear situation. He could be a good fit for the Baltimore Ravens who have just moved on from Le'Veon Bell, but it may be best to wait and see where he lands before using a waiver claim on him.
