Texas Not Planning On Releasing Rougned Odor, Elvis Andrus
4 years agoThe Texas Rangers have a financial conundrum in the form of their middle infield duo of Rougned Odor and Elvis Andrus, as both are under contract for at least the next two years, with Odor having a team option and Andrus having a vesting option in 2023. But general manager Jon Daniels revealed Tuesday that he did not foresee having to release either player, although he admitted that they would have to compete for starting jobs ahead of 2021. Odor, who has been tremendously streaky throughout his career, homered seven times over his final 15 games this season, while Andrus delivered a career-worst .194 average. Neither is a season-long fantasy asset heading into next year due to the uncertainty surrounding their job security.
