2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers placed rookie right-hander Beau Brieske (forearm) on the 15-day injured list with right forearm soreness on Thursday and reinstated right-hander Jose Cisnero from the bereavement list in a corresponding move. Brieske's injured list stint is retroactive to July 18. The 24-year-old won't be shut down from throwing, and the Tigers are optimistic that he'll only miss a couple turns through the starting rotation. Brieske had three straight quality starts before the All-Star break and went 3-6 with a 4.19 ERA and 1.20 WHIP while striking out 54 and walking 25 in 81 2/3 innings over 15 starts in the first half of his first big-league season. With a possible short IL stint, fantasy managers should hang onto Brieske in deeper leagues if they have the roster space.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
