Tim Boyle In Line To Start For Lions In Week 16
3 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Tim Boyle would get the start under center Sunday vs. the Falcons if Jared Goff is unable to come off the Reserve/COVID-19 list in time. Head coach Dan Campbell conceded Friday that it was unlikely that Goff would suit up for Week 16, paving the way for Boyle to make his second professional start. The first was a bumpy ride, as he threw for just 77 yards and two interceptions against Cleveland back in Week 11. Boyle would get the nod over David Blough, who has not started since 2019 when he made five starts for the Lions. Either way, pass-catching options such as Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond (shoulder) are now in a tricky spot, as the Detroit offense has struggled all season, even with Goff under center. Boyle can be avoided in all season-long formats.
