Tim Jones Leads Jaguars With 103 Receiving Yards On Saturday
2 years agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Tim Jones caught all three of his targets for 103 yards in Saturday's preseason finale versus the Atlanta Falcons. The undrafted wideout out of Southern Miss is in his second year with the Jaguars after spending last season on the team's practice squad. With Jacksonville signing Christian Kirk and Zay Jones this offseason, it was going to be an uphill climb for the second-year wide receiver to make the 53-man roster. After recording one reception for three yards in the Hall of Fame game, Jones combined for 13 receptions and 215 receiving yards in his final three preseason contests. Even if the 24-year-old didn't do enough to make Jacksonville's roster for Week 1, he could have earned a spot on the practice squad again or another team could sign him for depth.
