7 years agoFree-agent starting pitcher Tim Lincecum has a guaranteed offer from a team not named the Giants, according to a source. If the Giants want to bring Lincecum back, they'll have to offer more than a minor league deal, which is unlikely. The Freak is said to be in great shape and was hitting 90 mph with his fastball during a showcase for interested teams last week, but it's unlikely that he'll come anywhere close to his Cy Young form if he lands a spot in a team's rotation. The Dodgers are also extremely unlikely to have interest in the right-hander. Lincecum would like to stay on the West Coast, so the Padres could be firmly in the mix.
