5 years agoSeattle Mariners infielder Tim Lopes went 1-for-2 with a hit and an RBI during the loss to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Lopes has stood out during spring training thus far, compiling seven hits (five doubles) and seven RBI in 13 at-bats while striking out only twice. He isn't a lock to make the opening day roster by any means, but with continued production of this magnitude moving ahead, the 25-year-old may find a permanent role for himself in the lineup sooner rather than later.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
