Todd Frazier, Jay Bruce Sitting On Sunday
7 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Todd Frazier is getting the day off on Sunday, in part because he was spiked in the leg during Saturday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves. Outfielder Jay Bruce, who has been dealing with plantar fasciitis, is also getting the matinee off – this one moreso being a routine day of rest to get him two days of rest in a row with no game scheduled on Monday. Wilmer Flores will get the start in place of Frazier, whereas OBP monster Brandon Nimmo gets the call in right field. Flores, Nimmo, and the rest of the Mets will have their work cut out for them against Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Foltynewicz. Folty has put up a stellar 2.53 ERA through 21 1/3 innings pitched thus far, striking out a fantastic 10.97 hitters per nine innings in the process.
