6 years agoWashington Capitals forward Tom Wilson will not face supplemental discipline for his late hit on Jonathan Marchessault in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Wilson laid Marchessault out with a late, open-ice hit nowhere near the puck and it has been confirmed that he will not get a hearing from the NHL Department of Player Safety. Wilson makes for a solid DFS fantasy pick in leagues that count penalty minutes and/or hits, however, he should not be relied upon to produce offensively. With tension most certainly rising after his hit in Game 1, it would not come as a surprise to see him fight and most likely get a misconduct in Game 2, making for a very likely scenario for a large amount of penalty minutes.--Caden Inaba
