Tomas Nido Exits Monday After Hit By Pitch
4 years agoNew York Mets catcher Tomas Nido (wrist) exited Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader after being hit by a pitch on the wrist, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. James McCann has taken over behind the plate now, and will likely catch in Game 2 of the doubleheader with the Braves. Nido has been a decent play in NL-only and two-catcher formats, as he's slashing .238/.281/.393 with three homers, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored over 30 games this season. If this injury keeps him sidelined for a while, it will mean an increase in playing time for McCann, who has split time with Nido behind the plate.
