Tommy Edman Out Against Royals
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals second baseman Tommy Edman (hip) is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Kansas City Royals. Edman left the game early on Sunday due to a sore left hip flexor, and he's considered day-to-day. This will be the 26-year-old's first game off of the season. Edman has swung a hot bat through the first month of the season and has been bumped to the leadoff spot due to the struggles of Dylan Carlson. In his first 21 games, Edman is hitting .306 with three home runs, 11 RBI, 13 runs scored and five stolen bases in 85 plate appearances. Hopefully he'll be able to return to the lineup in a day or two. Harrison Bader is taking over leadoff duties on Monday against Royals right-hander Zack Greinke.
