6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher JC Ramirez has been diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow. Tommy John surgery has been recommended. This is a big blow for an Angels team that has already seen Matt Shoemaker and Andrew Heaney go to the disabled list. Jaime Barria will start on Wednesday, and Parker Bridwell will likely be recalled as soon as he is eligible. Ramirez had 11 wins and a 4.15 ERA last season, but will likely miss all of 2018 if he undergoes surgery.--patton
