4 years agoThe Oakland Athletics have acquired second baseman Tommy La Stella in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels. Franklin Barreto will head the other way in a second baseman swap by division rivals heading in different directions ahead of the August 31 trade-deadline. La Stella should fit well in an Oakland offense that boasts immense power, but also has the fifth-highest team-strikeout rate in the Majors. La Stella, on the other hand, is one of only three qualified hitters with less than 10 strikeouts this season. La Stella should settle down a second base position that was clearly the biggest hole in the A's offense. He won't bat second like with the Angels, but he should start most days and is his elite contact skills make him a viable target for batting average in deeper roto leagues.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
