Tommy Pham Breaks Hamate Bone
4 years agoThe San Diego Padres have confirmed a broken hamate bone for outfielder Tommy Pham (wrist). He’s expected to miss four-to-six weeks. The 32-year-old veteran felt a pop after a swing Sunday and was unable to finish his at-bat. Pham has endured a rough campaign through 95 plate appearances, slashing just .207/.316/.293 with two homers and 18 runs-plus-RBI but did have six steals. The Friars will likely rotate utility players Jurickson Profar and Jorge Mateo along with outfielder Josh Naylor in left field. If they struggle offensively, prospect outfielder Taylor Trammell could be an option. Pham’s timetable puts him on track to return for the final few weeks so fantasy managers with IL slots should hang tight.
