Tommy Pham Exits Early With Back Spasms
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham (back) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with lower-back spasms. Pham exited Tuesday's contest early after crashing into the Green Monster while attempting to make a play on a double from Jackie Bradley Jr. He missed last Saturday's game due to a back issue, and the injury flared up again on Tuesday. The 34-year-old went 0-for-2 before leaving. The severity of Pham's injury is unknown, and he is considered day-to-day. Rob Refsnyder replaced Pham in the third inning and could see an increase in playing time if the veteran is forced to miss any time.
