Tommy Pham Flourishing In Leadoff Spot
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, stolen base, run scored and RBI Monday against the Chicago Cubs. Pham continues his extended run, batting .305 (18-for-59) going back to May 21. The basepath theft was also his ninth of the season. After a horrific start to 2021, the 33-year-old has leveraged his elite plate discipline to lift his slash to .225/.364/.337 with four homers and 41 runs-plus-RBI to complement the steals. With outfielder Trent Grisham (heel) on the mend, Pham should keep occupying the leadoff spot. With the reemergence of the power/speed combination, Pham is once again a solid fantasy OF3.
