Tommy Pham Hits Grand Slam
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Tommy Pham went 2-for-4 with a grand slam on Monday against the Diamondbacks. It was a rough day for Arizona’s pitching staff, as they let up 12 runs. Pham is now hitting .302/.411/.468 with five home runs and six stolen bases. He’s showing his worth by putting up one of the most well-rounded performances in baseball so far. Although Pham may have more injury history than one would like for a 31-year-old, he is flourishing atop a very strong Rays lineup that should continue to score runs. He’s a top outfield option and should only get stronger when Austin Meadows (thumb) returns to the lineup. There’s no pitching to fear this week as the Rays finish their series against Arizona and then host the Yankees at the end of the week.
