Tommy Pham Hitting Leadoff Again Sunday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham is starting in left field and hitting leadoff on Sunday against Kansas City Royals right-hander Brad Keller. Pham was moved to the leadoff spot on Saturday and promptly went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. It's part of manager Alex Cora's new plan to drop rookie outfielder Jarren Duran in the order -- Duran is batting ninth Sunday. Before hitting leadoff on Saturday, Pham hadn't hit in the top spot in the batting order in 95 previous games with the Reds and Red Sox this year. The 34-year-old has plenty of experience in the spot, though, and it should make him more attractive from a fantasy standpoint. In 360 at-bats this year, he's hitting .233/.314/.367 with 11 home runs, 39 RBI, 60 runs scored and seven stolen bases.
