Tommy Pham Hitting Third On Opening Day
3 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Tommy Pham is starting in left field and batting third on Opening Day on Thursday against Atlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried. Pham really struggled in his two seasons with the San Diego Padres, slashing .226/.335/.370 with 18 home runs, 61 RBI, 87 runs scored and 20 stolen bases in 686 plate appearances over 186 games. A change of scenery could do him well, though, and he should be a regular in the outfield for the rebuilding Reds. Pham didn't cost much on draft day, and he could end up being a nice value pick if he stays healthy due to his power/speed combination in a nice hitter's park.
