Tommy Pham Walks Three Times, Scores A Run
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham batted leadoff Friday night against the Philadelphia Phillies, and he showed off his plate discipline by walking three times. He went 0-for-2 in his official at-bats and scored a run. Pham adds more value in leagues that count on-base percentage instead of batting average, as his OBP sits 109 points higher at .351. Still, he contributes plenty in any format, with 13 homers, 13 steals, 67 runs scored, and 40 RBI in 389 at-bats for the year. Fantasy managers should pay attention to how the playing time shakes out in a crowded outfield, but Pham's everyday role appears secure.
