Tony Gonsolin Going For MRI Exam Friday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin's forearm soreness has not responded as well as the team had hoped, and he's still shut down from throwing. Gonsolin will undergo an MRI exam on Friday, according to skipper Dave Roberts. The 28-year-old right-hander was put on the injured list on Monday, but the team isn't considering this to be a setback just yet. The Dodgers remain optimistic that he'll miss only two turns through the rotation, but his MRI results will shed more light on a potential timeline for a return. Gonsolin has already far exceeded his innings total in the big leagues in 2022 with 128 1/3 frames. His previous career-high was 55 2/3 innings in 15 appearances in 2021. Gonsolin has been great, though, going 16-1 with a 2.10 ERA (3.34 FIP), a 0.86 WHIP and a 116:35 K:BB in 23 starts.
