Top Mets Pitching Prospect David Peterson Starting To Dominate
7 years agoStarting pitcher David Peterson may only be in Low-A for the New York Mets, but the team’s top pitching prospect is starting to show why he was taken 20th overall in the 2017 draft. Over his last 12 innings pitched (two starts) for Low-A Columbia, Peterson has not allowed any earned runs. In his latest start on Monday, he threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out eight. Overall, Peterson owns a 3.24 ERA across 16 2/3 innings pitched, but he’s obviously poised to improve on that greatly as he continues to settle into Single-A ball. In Keith Law’s most recent top-100 prospect list, Peterson ranked 58th despite his lack of minor league experience to date. He’s a player to watch in dynasty leagues right now.
