Travis d’Arnaud Undergoes Tommy John Surgery
7 years agoNew York Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud (elbow) successfully underwent Tommy John surgery on Tuesday morning, according to Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News. d’Arnaud will miss the rest of the 2018 season, though he should be fully healed up by the time 2019 rolls around. d’Arnaud’s platoon mate, Kevin Plawecki, is also out of action for a few weeks with a hand injury, resulting in the team rolling with Tomas Nido and Jose Lobaton at the position for now. However, we know the team is exploring the idea of reopening talks with the Miami Marlins regarding J.T. Realmuto, although a deal does not seem likely at this point in time.
