Travis Shaw and Eric Thames Have Themselves A Day at Miller Park
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers lefty sluggers Travis Shaw and Eric Thames combined to go 4-for-9 and racked up three runs and five RBI in their squad's 11-3 beating of St. Louis. The two top-of-the-order bats teed off on Carlos Martinez on Thursday and ended his day after a mere four innings pitched. The Brewers have been taking advantage of their home park's favorable dimensions for left-handed hitters and have been crushing right-handed pitchers all season. In regards to OPS, Milwaukee has consistently been in the top 10 against righties all season, while they are currently third worst against southpaws. It's just something to consider when setting batting lineups or choosing streamers.
