Trayce Thompson to Make First Start with A's
7 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Trayce Thompson is penciled into the eight-hole for the A's on Wednesday night in their contest against Thompson's former team in the Los Angeles Dodgers. This will be Thompson's first start of the 2018 season. He played in 107 games between the 2016 and 2017 seasons for the Dodgers and had a combined .207 batting average, 14 home runs and 34 RBI. Thompson lacks fantasy value, but as is similar with most players who land with the A's, value can be found in being an everyday player. His true value is with the real-life ball club, who can utilize him in any of the three outfield spots. However, if he is able to put together a solid week, he could become a low-cost buy on the waiver wire in AL-only leagues.
