6 years agoWashington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner went 2-for-4 and stole three bases in Washington’s 2-0 Opening Day loss to the New York Mets. Turner has been encouraged to run more this season and he definitely obliged in Thursday’s game, an aggression and success rate that his fantasy shareholders hope continues. The shortstop may well be on his way to setting a new career high in stolen bases — currently 46, set in 2017 — and is a threat to lead the National League in steals for a second straight season. If that happens with anything like 2018's 19-HR power output, Turner will have justified his lofty preseason ranking.--Nathaniel Green
