Trent Taylor's Back Injury Diminishes Week 6 Upside
6 years agoAnticipated for more work following injuries to various San Francisco 49ers wide receivers, Trent Taylor (back) now looks iffy for Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers. Taylor underwent lower back surgery in the offseason and head coach Kyle Shanahan held him out of practice Thursday due to “wear and tear”. Taylor recorded his first touchdown in Week 5 along with season-highs in targets, receptions and yards. While Taylor was trending up before the injury, the Niners Monday Night game time sets him up as just a handcuff for Marquise Goodwin (hamstring, quadriceps) or Pierre Garcon (knee). Otherwise, Taylor is just a risky flex or low-floor WR5.
