Trent Williams Expected To Play Against Cowboys
3 years agoBarring a setback in the next few days, the San Francisco 49ers expect left tackle Trent Williams (elbow), who has been recovering from a sprained right elbow for the last few weeks, to play in Sunday's wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys. Williams was officially limited in Thursday's practice, but all signs are pointing to him being ready to play this weekend. "The elbow is doing good," Williams said. "It's made a lot of improvement over the last week or so. I practiced today. I felt pretty good." Getting Williams back will be huge while going up against a strong Cowboys pass-rush trio of DeMarcus Lawrence, Randy Gregory and rookie Micah Parsons. Williams had a pass-rush win rate of 92.3% during the regular season, which was ninth in the NFL, and he didn't allow a single sack. It's great news for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
