Trevor Lawrence Flashes In Preseason Debut
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence showed flashes of elite talent in his unofficial debut against the Cleveland Browns. Lawrence completed six of his nine passing attempts for 71 yards during the preseason contest, but he was also sacked twice, primarily due to his inability to get rid of the ball. However, his 35-yard completion to Marvin Jones Jr. was the highlight of the game, dropping a beautiful, high arcing throw over the top of a smothering defender and into the veteran's hands. As should be expected, the first-overall pick made some mistakes during his inaugural outing. Still, it was a solid showing from the young signal-caller, who will look to build off of his recent performance when the Jaguars face the New Orleans Saints in Week 2 of the preseason. At the moment, the rookie remains a QB2 who possesses talent-driven upside in nearly all formats.
