Trevor Story Diagnosed With Hairline Fracture
2 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story (wrist) has a small hairline fracture near his wrist and will be shut down for 10-to-14 days. He was initially diagnosed with a bruised hand after being placed on the injured list on July 16. A second opinion from a hand specialist revealed that Story suffered the fracture when he was hit in his right hand by a pitch on July 12. The 29-year-old slashed .221/.289/.423 with 15 home runs, 10 stolen bases, 58 RBI, and 49 runs before landing on the IL. Story most likely won't return until mid-August. Christian Arroyo will handle second base duties for the Red Sox while Story is sidelined.
